Yutori Akitas believes in the preservation of the large, big-boned American Akita. The Japanese dogs have changed since the original Akita was imported to America, around the time of WWII. At this time, the differences represent two different breeds. Yutori Akitas do not contain import or blended lines in recent generations.

A little about Yutori

At this time, Yutori does not have any Akitas. Sadly, the last of our lines passed away in 2008. We do not presently have any plans to re-establish our line, based upon the ridiculous and unscrupulous legislation being enacted all over the country. Because of my great love for this breed, I have left this website intact as a memorial and a testament to the outstanding quality, spirit and loyalty of this magnificent breed and most especially to the exceptional beings my Akitas were... ...

Yutori is a member of the Akita Club of America (ACA) and follows their code of ethics.

We xray hips and elbows, and check patellas, and submit xrays to OFA at 2 years of age. We also CERF and thyroid test. See each individual dog's page for a specific listing of health clearances.
